A one day course, suitable for anyone caring for babies, nursery or school aged children in their own home or work place who wants to gain a qualification. Practical learning, including CPR practice for babies and children on manikins.

Content included in this course includes:
* The role of a first aider and being prepared for emergencies
* Assessing emergency situations and prioritising what action to take
* Helping a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
* Helping a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
* Helping a baby or child who is having a seizure
* Helping a baby or child who is choking
* Helping a baby or child who is bleeding
* Helping a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock)
* Helping a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock
Duration: 6 hours. This course is delivered face to face and meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Statutory Framework for 6 hour emergency paediatric first aid, with additional content. (NB: We also offer the full 12 hour face to face or blended course if this is what you require to meet the Ofsted registration requirements of the EYFS)
